I want to respect my president and his first lady.
Hillary:The Archetype of a Strong Woman?
Hillary:The Archetype of a Strong Woman?
Fierce. An ice queen. Often times too quick to slam her opponent. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaigning style is rather unique and controversial. Some find her work admirable, others resent it greatly.
All the while, she has been a mother, a lawyer, an activist, a First Lady, and a senator. With such an impressive resume, it’s a wonder she’s still afloat, managing to remain steadfast in her career moves, holding close family ties and keeping her commitment to provide services to underserved communities. Working mothers across the nation understand how challenging it is to juggle a professional and personal life and can probably appreciate the amount of passion Hillary likely possesses for each of her causes in order to appear as successful as she does in all areas. Does this make her a strong woman, however?
The very nature of being a woman requires strength considering what biology has in store for them, so one could argue that all women are icons of strength. The very nature of a woman in the workforce requires strength as well, as social norms have long kept women on the back burner regarding equal pay and equal opportunity. The very nature of politics requires strength, as difficult issues are faced, discussed and challenged each day. So what makes Hillary so special? Is it merely the fact that her life has been so much in the public eye, or is she legitimately an impressive role model for all strong ladies?
